Minneapolis/ St. Paul
North Minneapolis Minnesota
The next stop on our three-part Minneapolis tour series is to northern Minneapolis. I am going to show you some of my favorite stops and the best places to live in Minneapolis. My name is Joe Carmack and I am a real estate agent in the Twin Cities, helping buyers find the Minneapolis neighborhoods that are right for them. Without further ado, let’s begin our tour.
Things to do in North Minneapolis, MN
Our first stop is going to be at Betty Danger’s because this location encapsulates what Minneapolis is all about. It’s a restaurant that has a weird, quirky vibe, as well as a mini-golf course and Ferris wheel called the Revolution. This is the perfect environment if you want good food and a fun atmosphere.
Minneapolis suburbs are known for their plush, green grass and natural surroundings and northern Minneapolis does not disappoint. One park that is a must-see for nature enthusiasts is the Theodore Wirth Parkway located on the border of Golden Valley on the northwest side of Minneapolis. This area is filled with hiking and biking trails, playgrounds, and a small beach that can be used for cross country skiing in the winter.

Our next stop on this tour is to the Warehouse District. Located towards the eastside of downtown Minneapolis, this area gets its name from the number of warehouses found here, which have been converted to condos, apartments, or office spaces. The wonderful part of living in the Warehouse District is that you can easily work and live in the same building, significantly reducing your commute time. Saint Anthony Main is another great location with views of downtown as well as the river, restaurants and even an old movie theater, Stone Arch Cinema reside there.
As we head to the northeast Minneapolis area, you will find more single-family and multi-family homes. You can expect to spend in the upper $200,000s or mid $300,000s, but you will also be surrounded by nature and a quick driving distance from the city.
South Minneapolis Minnesota
As part of our three-part series on some of the best places to live in Minneapolis, we are taking you to southern Minneapolis in this video. If you expecting to see lakes in the great state of Minnesota, this area does not disappoint. Lake of the Isles is the beginning of several different lakes that travel through South Minneapolis and continue through the east of the Twin Cities. This may be one of the best Minneapolis suburbs if you love homes that have a Victorian style and quality craftsmanship. However, if modern homes are more your style, then southern Minneapolis will have you covered.

The 50th and France area can be found directly over the border and has unique boutique shops in a high-end upscale area. If breathing in the fresh air outdoors is more your cup of tea, check out Minnehaha Falls Park for a beautiful day of hiking and biking.

There are condos available in this creative city if living in Minneapolis is something you are considering. Several high-rise, brand new condos are available in the Middle District, or there are also some older, well-maintained condos in the area. The older models typically have two bedrooms and cost approximately $200,000 to $250,000. If the newer, more luxurious models are more your style, you are looking at easily spending over $1 million, possibly more. While this price tag can be extremely hefty, you will get breathtaking views of the river and Minneapolis skyline.
Housing is not the only thing available in Minneapolis; this area also has plenty of shopping, restaurants, and a library, all of which are within close proximity to one another. The light rail system allows passengers to quickly travel from downtown Minneapolis to downtown St. Paul, as well as to the Mall of America and airport. A brand-new rail line is also available if you want to get out of the city for a while and enjoy Big Lake.
Whether you want to live directly in the city or one of the quieter Minneapolis suburbs, I would be happy to help. Many of my videos will show you the north central and southern Minneapolis neighborhoods, including the surrounding areas. The northern side of this city is where you will find Como Zoo, Lake Como, the Observatory, a golf course, a playground, and so much more. The Como Zoo is a destination that attracts families from all over Minnesota because of its large size and abundance of wildlife. For those who can appreciate buildings that have a history behind them, some architectures were built in the late 1800s and early 1900s that have a style that can’t be seen in modern buildings today, such as Tudors and Victorian designs. Homes of this historic architecture are typically priced in the mid $350,000s and can increase all the way up to the $750,000s. Traveling has never been easier with the help of the new light rail extension that helps connect commuters from St. Paul to Minneapolis, the Twins stadium, the Mall of America, and the airport. It is no surprise that Minnesota can be cold sometimes. St. Paul offers a Skyway system that allows pedestrians to stay out of the chilling air and indoors as they walk from one building to the next. This system helps keep residents warm as they do their grocery shopping, go to work, walk to a restaurant, or are simply heading home.
